Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Waste Processing Operator. The ideal candidate will assist to collect wastes streams from multiple locations on campus and transporting waste processing facility. Segregate wastes into proper locations and process. Operate Box truck on occasion, operate trash compactors daily, wash trash carts, stack buckets, inventory, and light custodial tasks.

Job Description

The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Monitor instrumentation and control systems on the Chem Clave unit and all auxiliary equipment of the waste processing facility.
• Utilize computer monitors and gauges to observe and track Chem Clave data. Add information to daily logs as required.
• Drive waste processing truck to collect solid waste and recycle materials from various locations.
• Transport waste to Chem Clave facility and unload; return empty containers to assigned locations.
• Review all the mechanical and operating systems of the waste processing truck daily. Maintain fuel, oil and cooling systems to proper levels and provide routine maintenance.
• Sort and process waste and recycle materials. Utilize compactors and shredders as required.
• Tour facility periodically to observe equipment operations; adjust as required.
• Maintain truck, containers and container areas in clean condition. Maintain Chem Clave facility in clean condition. Sweep floors, use water hose, and other cleaning equipment as required.
• Utilize safety equipment and/or protective clothing as directed. Utilize forklift as required to process waste and recycled material

Skills Required

• Trash collection, separation, General laborer, operating Box truck on our campus only
• Must be able to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience in the operation of tractors, forklifts, straight box trucks with automatic and manual transmissions and other power equipment required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to stand constantly; walk occasionally; sit occasionally.
• Able to lift 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-100 lbs occasionally.
• Able to carry 0-100 lbs occasionally.
• Able to push 0-35 lbs frequently; 36-100 lbs occasionally.
• Able to pull 0-100 lbs occasionally.
• Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
• Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping constantly.

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Requirements

• Shift hours/Days: M-F 1pm-930pm; Weekends As needed.
• Uniforms provided.
