As a Technical Accountant at Vanta, you will be a go-to resource for accounting research, documenting and writing / updating accounting memos related to complex accounting treatments, such as Internally-developed Software, Equity-related activities, Goodwill, M&A activities and others as needed.  You will be responsible for accounting for technical accounting activities on a periodic basis including involvement in preparing journal entries and reconciliations as well as helping draft audited financial statements and disclosures.

What you’ll do as a Technical Accountant at Vanta:

• Participate in close-related activities to ensure complete and accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP/IFRS, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations within the established close timeline

• Research technical accounting guidance and prepare / update accounting memos as needed

• Prepare calculations for journal entries and reconciliations related to internally-developed software, stock-based compensation, and other equity-related activities

• Partner with Accounting management to provide guidance and assistance with ad-hoc projects

• Assist in preparation of audited financial statements and disclosures

How to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years of technical accounting experience 

• Prior experience as a Big 4 auditor and technical accountant at a software company

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB standards, and SOX/Internal controls

• Extreme attention to detail and ability to simultaneously research discrepancies and solve problems

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Be proactive and have a strong desire for success

• Experience in Netsuite a plus

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The salary or OTE range for this position is $128,000 - $151,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
