Purpose

Liberty is dedicated to ensuring the safety and beauty of our service territory through effective vegetation management. We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable System Arborist to join our team and help us achieve our goals.

Accountabilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and management of the vegetation management program and related plans and procedures
  • Perform tree inspections, maintain data, create reports for agencies, and manage records
  • Professionally and effectively work with customers and other stakeholders to educate and/or negotiate our prescribed work, address customer concerns promptly and efficiently
  • Work with tree contractors to ensure prescribed vegetation management work is completed efficiently and effectively, this includes project planning, resource management, quality control audits, progress monitoring, and providing additional resources as needed
  • Collaborate with contracted pre-inspection arborists to ensure efficient and effective inspection work, conduct work planning, scope management, and quality control audits
  • Utilize and implement strategic and emerging technologies to provide optimum productivity
  • Prepare required reports for state, local, and federal agencies, including work plans and maps for authorization, contribute to Liberty's Wildfire Mitigation Plan and provide support for quarterly and annual reports
  • Assist in procuring contracts for potential vendors and manage these relationships effectively
  • Work with internal customers to represent the department and communicate vegetation management requirements, processes, and procedures effectively
  • Maintain relationships with local regulatory agencies through regular communication to facilitate timely work completion
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Vegetation Management, Natural Resources Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a System Arborist
  • Experience working with the utility industry required
  • Required certification: ISA Certified Arborist
  • Preferred certifications: ISA Utility Specialist, ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ), and/or Utility Arborist Association (UAA)

Compensation

$34.56 - $51.84 per hour

Expected pay: $34.56 - $43.20 per hour

*Liberty considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education, training and skills, and geographic location. Base pay for this role is expected to fall within the mid to mid-point.
