Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer CSP
If interested, please apply directly or email your resume to *darwoodard@actalentservices.com* Job Description - We are seeking a dedicated Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to monitor and enforce worker safety plans and procedures during the Demolition and Remediation of five buildings at a site near Albany, NY.
- You will be responsible for issuing and authorizing Stop Work orders for any imminent safety or health concerns.
- As the field safety representative, you will have the authority to develop and enforce the site HASP and verify compliance.
- Your duties will also include notifying management of any Stop Work orders issued and assisting in the design and implementation of actions to mitigate imminent hazards.
- You will also participate in daily work planning meetings, oversee and document safety-related training, investigate injuries, accidents, and near misses, and conduct safety inspections and audits.
- As part of your responsibilities, you will oversee asbestos abatement subcontractors and ensure monitoring for industrial hygiene purposes.
- You will also assist in developing safety plans and procedures and related documents including Activity Hazard Analysis.
Skills - CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
- Demolition experience
- Experience on similar job sites
- Ability to issue and authorize Stop Work orders
- Ability to oversee and document safety-related training
- Ability to investigate injuries, accidents, and near misses
- Ability to conduct safety inspections and audits
- Ability to oversee asbestos abatement subcontractors
- Ability to ensure monitoring for industrial hygiene purposes
- Ability to assist in developing safety plans and procedures
Work Environment - The work environment will be onsite at a construction site near Albany, NY. The project involves the demolition and environmental remediation of five buildings.
