We are seeking an experienced  Corporate Crane & Equipment Service Manager to oversee our service operations, ensuring the maintenance, repair, and customer support functions meet the highest standards of excellence.

Position Summary:

The  Corporate Crane Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, service, and repair operations for our fleet of cranes and heavy equipment. This role will ensure that all service operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing service operations for crane fleets, possess strong leadership skills, and be dedicated to enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the crane service department, including scheduling, service planning, resource allocation, and technician management.
  • Fleet Maintenance & Repair: Ensure the effective maintenance and repair of the company’s crane fleet, including routine inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of service technicians, service managers, and support staff to ensure high performance and high standards of service.
  • Customer Support: Provide exceptional customer service by managing client requests, coordinating on-site support, and ensuring that service solutions are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Quality Control: Establish and maintain procedures to monitor and ensure the quality of all crane service and repair work, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational guidelines.
  • Inventory & Parts Management: Manage inventory of parts and equipment needed for crane repairs, including maintaining supplier relationships and managing parts budgets.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets for service operations, ensuring that expenses are in line with company goals and profitability targets. Monitor and control service-related costs.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all service operations adhere to safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and other relevant industry standards. Promote a safety-first culture within the service team.
  • Vendor & Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with external service providers, parts suppliers, and other third-party vendors to ensure the company has access to the resources needed to deliver high-quality crane services.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including maintenance schedules, work orders, repair logs, and customer service feedback. Prepare regular reports for senior management on service department performance and key metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Industry certifications in crane operation, service, or maintenance (e.g., NCCCO, OSHA certifications) are a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in crane service management, fleet maintenance, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of managing service operations, teams, and budgets in a crane or heavy equipment environment.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse service team.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Solid knowledge of crane equipment, service protocols, and maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex technical issues, balancing technical and customer service needs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, staff, and vendors.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and compliance, particularly in heavy equipment and crane operations.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Experience with fleet management software and maintenance tracking tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
