Job Description

Little Land Pediatric Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional therapeutic services to children with a variety of needs, focusing on enhancing their daily living skills, sensory processing, fine motor skills, and overall development. 

 

This role requires collaboration with families, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized treatment plans that promote the best outcomes for our young clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the unique needs and challenges of each child.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the specific goals and needs of each child.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to provide therapeutic interventions aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and overall functional performance.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to therapy.
  • Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support the child’s development outside of therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Provide training and mentorship to therapy assistants, interns, and volunteers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience working with pediatric populations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and pediatric conditions affecting occupational performance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • BLS certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and reach frequently during therapy sessions.
  • Ability to sit on the floor and actively engage with children during play-based therapy.
