Responsibilities:

• Prepare clearly written reports that address referral questions appropriately report data accurately and provide guidance for interventions.
• Explain assessment findings in a manner that is understandable for the intended audience.
• Assist school personnel and other agency administrators with the interpretation of data to evaluate classroom and/or buildinglevel programs.
• Follow legal regulatory and ethical parameters in databased decisionmaking and record keeping.
• Participate in collaborative decision making and problem solving with other professionals to achieve student success including development of classroom management and individual behavior intervention plans.
• Promote and model ethical practices of confidential communication with others.
• Work effectively with school personnel to promote supportive learning environments.
• Assist school personnel in developing cognitive and academic goals for all students.
• Use formal and informal assessment techniques to evaluate the performance and progress of students.
• Use assessment results to identify students’ learning needs develop instructional strategies and contribute to recommendations regarding students’ eligibility for and placement in special education.
• Participate in the development and implementation of instructional strategies and interventions to promote learning in students at different stages of development and from diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with school personnel to develop appropriate academic goals and interventions for all students who do not meet the Illinois Learning Standards or locally developed objectives.
• Identify when and how to access and/or make referrals for additional services or resources to assist students with diverse learning needs.
• Maintain useful and accurate records and communicate information responsibly to families/guardians students colleagues and community members as appropriate.
• Follow School District Policies and Administrative Procedures and codes of professional conduct respecting the boundaries of professional responsibilities when working with students colleagues and families.
• Report any suspected child abuse or neglect as required.
• Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as administration may assign in accordance with Board of Education policies and administrative procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License with the School Psychologist Endorsement.
• Such other qualifications of academic professional and personal excellence as the Board of Education may specify.
• Bachelor degree required Master preferred.
