Job Description

Our busy Dermatology office is looking for a Medical Receptionist with at least 1 year of experience working in a medical office for our new state of the art new office in Bridgeport.

Duties:  

• Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient appointments for routine office visits, consultations, treatments, and follow ups using computer system
• Assist patients with scheduling appointments by applying knowledge of office operations and medical procedures
• Acquire necessary medical records for patient charts by communicating via telephone, facsimile, or email
• Enter necessary changes on computer to update information prior to printing daily schedules
• Operate standard office equipment to include: multi-line telephone, copy machine, computer, and facsimile machine
• Greet patients • Verify insurance and make copies
• Prepare medical records
• Ensure that the front desk activities are fully operation at the start of business hours check-in and check out process
• Collect and post charges and payments and schedule follow-up appointments File and maintain medical records appropriately and accurately
• Retrieve patient charts in accordance with daily schedule
• Distribute incoming mail from hospitals and labs for physicians on a daily basis
• Advise office manager of the need to order supplies pertinent to front desk function
• Participate in staff and educational meetings
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Type:

• Full-time: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4:30pm and Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm 

  Experience:

• 1 year of experience working in a medical office (required)

Education:  

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Pay:

• Pay starts at $20.00 per hour
