POSITION OVERVIEW:
Chasm Team recently launched a search for an Investment Analyst which is a critical role supporting PHPs mission by providing financial and operational expertise. This position involves evaluating potential investments, supporting deal structures, conducting in-depth market and financial analyses, and assisting portfolio companies in achieving their strategic goals.
The Investment Analyst role offers unique exposure to high-level decision-making, direct interaction with senior leaders, and the opportunity to contribute to the growth of transformative healthcare companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investment Analysis and Support - Conduct detailed financial modeling and valuation analyses for potential investments and company creation.
- Assist in due diligence processes by analyzing financial statements, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Prepare professional-grade presentations and reports summarizing findings for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Support the structuring and negotiation of investment deals, working closely with internal teams and external advisors.
Portfolio Operations and Strategy - Collaborate with portfolio companies to develop budgets, financial forecasts, and strategic business plans.
- Perform financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to support decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
- Conduct strategic decision analyses to evaluate resource allocation, business development opportunities, and operational scaling.
- Partner with operating teams to implement operational best practices and improve business efficiency.
Market Research and Insights - Conduct targeted industry research to identify trends, emerging opportunities, and competitive threats.
- Develop comprehensive market scans and competitive landscapes to support investment decisions and portfolio strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, consulting, or corporate finance, preferably in the biotech or life sciences sectors.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or Life Sciences is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, independent work ethic, with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Strong working proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
