Job Title: Import/Export Coordinator
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Import/Export Coordinator to join our team in the freight forwarding space. As an Import/Export Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across international borders. Your expertise will help us navigate complex customs regulations, manage logistics, and provide exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and facilitate international shipments, including air and ocean freight
Prepare and process import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and customs forms
Ensure compliance with customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements
Communicate with customers, suppliers, and freight forwarders to resolve issues and provide updates
Manage and track shipments, including monitoring transit times and customs clearance
Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, customer service, and operations
Analyze and resolve discrepancies and issues related to shipments and documentation
Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and trade policies
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in import/export coordination or a related field
Knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software (e.g., CargoWise, AscendTMS)
Nice to Have:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
Certification in customs regulations (e.g., CCS, CES)
Experience with freight forwarding software and systems
Knowledge of foreign languages (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin)
