Summary: Our client is seeking a Hospital Risk Pool Financial Analyst to join their team in a fully remote role.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and review detailed and summary reports for Hospital Capitation on a monthly basis.
- Run paid claims reports monthly and/or quarterly to calculate claims costs.
- Generate lag reports for claims paid and received.
- Calculate and update the Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) model using lag reports and other relevant methodologies.
- Prepare Risk Pool summaries and reports on claims by month and type of service.
- Maintain daily cash flow and monthly bank reconciliation reports.
- Prepare end-of-month financial and board packages.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by the Controller, CFO, or client.
- Build automation tools for data mining required for Risk Pool financial reporting.
- Develop and validate SQL queries to extract the necessary data for reporting.
- Assess and document business operations and procedures to ensure data integrity and process optimization.
- Create, review, and analyze hospital financial risk pools to ensure a complete understanding of each hospital's performance and the factors that impact it.
- Identify issues that require further investigation and coordinate with internal and external departments to ensure accuracy.
- Streamline efficiency in document generation and reporting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Physician Organization, Health Plan, Hospital Finance, or Health Plan settings.
- Strong understanding of provider and health plan contracting, risk delineation, medical terminology, and standard industry reimbursement methodologies.
- Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Suite (with a focus on Access and Excel), Power BI.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, work accurately, meet deadlines, and provide impactful reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills to manage modest projects successfully.
- Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to maintain positive, service-oriented relationships with healthcare professionals, both internal and external, including Board members and administration.
- Highly analytical with a strong understanding of financial concepts, such as capital budgeting, discounted cash flow, financial statement analysis, and forecasting.
- Maintains confidentiality of information and complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Adaptable to changing priorities, able to handle special projects, and work outside of current scope when necessary.
Salary:
- The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 depending upon experience.
