Seeking a full-time career nanny and mother's helper to support a family with a 3 year old girl and a new born baby boy. The ideal candidate is also a child development educator with a lot of experience with two children - especially baby and toddler experience. Qualities that the family is highly seeking are a Waldorf teacher or someone who is trained in Waldorf, RIE, or montessori experience. Someone who leads with consciousness, nature, patience, attuned communication, and emotional intelligence.

Must be ready to begin the position mid April / early May.

Qualifications & Requirements(***)

• Must have extensive professional nannying experience - and at least a year with a baby and toddler***
• Looking to commit to a minimum of two-three years with the family if it is a fit for both parties after the trial period***
• Child development and nannying are candidate’s career and life passion, not just your day job***
• Must be willing to travel with family as needed, as well as relocate with them for the autumn season at their farm in Mendocino. Housing provided. August-November*** Otherwise, this is a live-out position when in LA.
• Must live in or relocate to the Los Angeles area and willing to drive as needed (family located in Topanga). Must have valid drivers license. Car provided for all child transport needs.***
• Self or professionally trained in waldorf, RIE, montessori experience, gentle parenting rearing***
• Must have a reliable and insured vehicle to get to work.
• Must love pets as there are six dogs, two cats, donkeys, alpacas, chickens and bunnies (and part of the Waldorf daily experience are enjoying the animals and garden with their three-year-old).***
• The family has a chef, family assistant, and daily housekeeper; however, candidate must be willing to do light organizing, cooking, and tidying during down time, and at the end of the day to wrap up.***
• Must understand a healthy and holistic lifestyle as the family is extremely holistic - only using homeopaths, flower essences, organic, and herbs for the children.***
• Any post-partum doula experience is a huge plus. Not to worry if you do not have it, as the family’s postpartum doula will train you in supporting mom and new baby before she departs.
• Must be open to being the mother’s helper such as organizing, light evening tidying before going home, and gentle cooking/ warming up food for the family.
• Must be flexible to slide between supportive tasks - supporting mom, care for newborn, care for toddler, care for home. ***
• Knowledge of healthy, organic foods and holistic lifestyle
• Knowledge of pro nanny travel and navigating airport/ plane activities with a toddler on travels.

This will be a full-time employment opportunity with the ability to earn benefits after the 90 day probation period. The role will be a mix of duties such as caring for their baby, due in May, picking up their 3-year-old from school and caring for her after. The ideal candidate must have the stamina for a newborn and toddler filled with mindful nature activities, crafts, education, and developmentally appropriate stimulation. And most importantly the candidate must have very grounded energy. This is an extremely no drama household.

You will be supporting the owner of an online wellness company who is located in Topanga, CA. The family consists of a three year-old-daughter who is in a waldorf pod three to four days a week from 8:30a-12:30p. The family is expecting their second child on May 9th. The owner is very grounded, positive, and down to earth and looking for someone who is experienced, extremely trustworthy, self-sufficient, very organized, and deeply professional/drama free.

The family often travels between their two other homes in Mariposa, CA and Mendocino, CA as well as some work and holiday travel which candidate would accompany them on to support the family. Toddler is completely potty trained, extremely verbal and communicative, active, and loves socialization.

Must be ready to begin the position mid April / early May. Candidate will be trained by the family's current nanny of three years, as well as their postpartum doula.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Care for the newborn in the mornings while the toddler is at school/ camp. Then take over the toddler after school while having the baby join you both in any activities when mom begins work again (August 15th)
• Help the toddler prepare for school the next day with warming up dinner, making the next day’s lunch, a bath and getting into PJ’s.
• Ability to multitask to help mom, baby and toddler during this delicate postpartum period and be flexible.
• Coordinating playdates for toddler
• Preparing a week’s worth of nature activities and crafts for the toddler for after school.
• Going to the library, museums, beach etc with the toddler.
• Being present and participating in private swim classes with the swim teacher and toddler
• Engaging in developmentally appropriate activities with both the baby and toddler.
• Helping to pack for the baby and toddler for all travel.
• Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed, must remain open and flexible.

Compensation and Benefits

• $30-35/ hr (estimated 40 hours per week)
