About the opportunity
The Field Systems Manager will act as the field teams’ administrator and project lead as a main point of contact for various business units within our Field and Tech Stack. This person will also be responsible for procurement related activities attached to various technologies throughout the technologies useful life at Contentful. In alignment with the Contentful Business Platform team, this person will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the business tools used by the various field departments. The Field Systems Manager will also assist the head of Data Operations and Field Systems with strategic Tech Stack planning and stakeholder management in order to scale the department to build and meet our strategic business goals. We expect this person to be knowledgeable and consultative to internal team members on Contentful’s business processes, technologies, methodologies and strategic direction.
What to expect?
- Maintain a deep, cross-functional knowledge of field systems and field business processes/operations.
- Manage aspects of Field tech stack across all field departments as needed
- Partner with IT, Sales Enablement, Business platform, Sales, Partnerships, CS, and Marketing and other cross functional teams to drive business system efficiency and stakeholder management.
- Collaborate with regional and cross functional field teams, Enablement, Marketing and other departments to improve integration of all tools and enablement of tools and their intended use.
- Optimize current system driven processes to scale for growth and efficiency such as roadmap education and implementation of new system features, aid in production of predictive modeling of machine learning in CRM or other field systems
- Manage the end-to-end procurement processes alongside our procurement team and business stakeholders related to initial acquisition of new tools, expansion and renewal of existing tools.
- Manage the development of detailed design specifications and project plans to drive software system and process improvements, stakeholder management, enhance business efficiency, manage new product implementations.
- Manage data governance processes, user management, privacy and adherence of guidelines between business units and systems.
- Perform in-depth analysis and insights into key business metrics and, when needed, provide recommendations on a regular and/or ad-hoc basis.
- Inform the development of data-driven improvements such as but not limited to system automations, business process creation, documentation and enablement.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, is adaptable, assertive, tolerant of change and is detail-oriented. Capable of clear and concise communication across multiple channels like, but not limited to; Slack, email, Zoom, in-person events.

- Experience implementing & supporting various aspects of a field tech stack
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence colleagues, fostering strong working relationships.
- Strong strategic thinking, creative problem solving and analytical skills, demonstrated ability to provide consultative recommendations based on data alongside relevant business and people context.
- Procurement experience is a plus.
- Ability to create, document and articulate process workflows required.
- Project management and organizational skills required.
- SaaS experience
- Ability to thrive in an organization both face to face and remote.
- A willingness to step outside your comfort zone and wear multiple hats within our organization.
- Minimum of 5+ years in a software systems & operations role.
- Salesforce administration level experience or equivalent

This role will need to be conducted in a state in which we are currently registered to do business. Colorado Salary Statement: The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.
Colorado Salary Range: $98,000 - $106,000
