DESCRIPTION

Under the general direction of the Battery and Storage Director, responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of battery and energy storage projects. Employee responsibilities encompass the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial scoping and feasibility assessment to project commissioning and handover. Collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, analysts, and stakeholders, to ensure alignment of project objectives with strategic business goals by providing analyses for complex budget, funding, financial, and/or academic data systems based on customer/client requirements.

Makes recommendations and contributes to the continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and methodologies, leveraging expertise and insights to enhance project delivery efficiency, scalability, and innovation.

Responsible for advancing renewable energy adoption and sustainability while contributing to the growth and success of our organization in the dynamic and rapidly evolving energy storage market.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

  • Advanced knowledge of common organizational- or research-specific and other computer application programs. This includes project management software such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and/or Notion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and influence, both verbally and in writing. Proven ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders including clients, project teams, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and community members, and build and maintain positive relationships. Ability to effectively communicate status updates for all assigned projects.

  • Advanced project management skills. Experience tracking budgets, tasks, and communicating status for projects.

  • Strong background in project management, with specific experience in the battery and energy storage industry.

  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a research institution environment. Strong organizational skills with an ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality or integrity.

  • Eagerness to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the energy storage field through self-directed learning, professional development opportunities, and participation in relevant conferences, seminars, and workshops.

  • Advanced analytical / problem-solving skills. Willingness and ability to learn, develop and implement new ideas and technologies to aid in effectively fulfilling Project Management responsibilities.

  • Thorough knowledge of organizational or initiative processes, protocols and procedures. Willingness to learn current processes, protocols, and procedures as well as adapt to new ones as they arise.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Advanced knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment, and effectively manage changing project requirements, priorities, and constraints while remaining focused on achieving project objectives.
